SVMS Band​​

The band program at SVMS starts in 7th grade with Band 1, also known as Beginning Band.  Students in this class select an instrument to play and learn the basics of music reading and tone production.  Band 1 students will perform in a Christmas and Spring concert.  They are also able to participate in the annual Solo & Ensemble Festival.  The final big event of the year for the beginners is the annual TCSS Beginning Band Bash.

Band members in 8th grade are scheduled into Band 2, also known as Intermediate Band.  This class continues to focus on developing skills on their instruments, while adding in additional performance opportunities.  Band 2 students have the option to participate in the SVHS Marching Band and will also form a pep band to perform at several SVMS football games.  Other performances include the annual Veteran's Day program, Christmas concert, and Spring concert.  Outside of the band room, students can try out for All-County and All-State band, honor bands, and Solo & Ensemble Festival.
